With a background in chaplaincy and specialized training in spiritual care for moral injury, J. creates a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals navigating trauma, grief, and existential distress. He facilitates meditation and somatic mindfulness practices to help clients reconnect with an inner sense of peace, well-being, and purpose. Through personalized spiritual care, he supports clients in exploring the intersection of mental health, somatic experience, spiritual meaning, and personal growth, fostering resilience and healing through a trauma-informed approach. His deep understanding of moral injury and the unique challenges faced by individuals in high-stress environments allows him to offer valuable therapeutic insights that support recovery and transformation. Whether through individual sessions, group meditation, or moral injury guidance, J. is committed to helping clients rediscover their sense of hope and well-being.

J. is currently pursuing a joint Master of Social Work and Master of Divinity at the University of Denver and Iliff School of Theology. A certified teacher of somatic meditation in the Dharma Ocean lineage, he has served as a meditation instructor for over twenty years and leads residential meditation retreats for groups. As an ordained chaplain, he spent eight years providing spiritual care and grief support in hospice settings, working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. His experience has equipped him with a deep ability to meet people where they are, whether they are facing transition, illness, disability, moral injury, soul wounding, grief and loss, spiritual seeking, faith development, or theological questioning. At NeuroGrove, J. is exploring innovative ways to integrate somatic interoceptive awareness into neurotherapy, helping clients deepen their connection to mind, body, and spirit.

Outside of the clinic, J. enjoys running, hiking, and backpacking on Colorado’s scenic trails. He also has a passion for classical music, summer mountain festivals, film, and theatre.
